Filtering the Data Display List using tags the user can select.

Hello,
I'm loving playing around with AF/DD so far. I am having fun adding a field to the form such as Platform (Win7, OSX, *nix) for example. I've made pages with blocks that only display records where the Platform field is Win7 using the Filter attribute in the Data Display block.
What I'd love to figure out, and hopefully someone already has, is how I could use user input say clicking a nice "tag" or button with the filters they'd like to see. So a user could click the Win7 tag and it would show the records that matched Win7, I actually accomplished that part just by making the "tag" a button that linked to the page where I had already filtered the block. But what I'm after is for the user to stay where they are and have the results filter and then they could click the OSX tag and the records that matched all the tags that they currently have clicked would show.
It seems like the filtering option is almost there but perhaps this would have to be a separate add-on that would submit new queries via AJAX. Anyway I think you get what I'm after since it's a pretty common way of filtering things these days.
