If/else comparison using Placeholder

Permalink Browser Info Environment
I'm trying to us a Placeholder value within an if / else statement in my data list to help filter the results to some particular requirements but the value does seem to work.....am I missing something or is this just not possible.

eg:

<field name="Page ID" placeholder="page-id" />
<if name="Phone" comparison="contains" value="{{page-id}}">
Looks like <field name="First Name" /> is in the 601 area code.
<else>
<field name="First Name" /> is not in the 601 area code.
</else>
</if>

It's a bit long winded but I'm trying filter the results of the data list on the page based on the ID of the page.

Cheers
Lee

Yeah, you can only use the placeholder attribute to generate content that is rendered to the page, not to pass it to an if statement.
