Upgrade issue

Permalink Browser Info Environment
Hey Jordan,

Looks like my customer updated the package from 1.0.1 to 1.2.3 and is causing some issues with an overridden view that I had created. (http://www.phoenix-aerial.com/information/faq/). Can you give me some guidance on where I should move that view with the updates?

Hi Andrew,
There was a big problem upgrading from versions prior to 1.1 because the
code for the blocks you make with DCP were stored in the DCP package
itself, so when the upgraded addon comes down from the marketplace it
overwrites the existing package and the code for the block goes with it.

What this means is that you need to either restore the site from a backup
(if you have one of recent vintage and won't lose more recent content
changes by rolling back the site) and then run a special upgrader package I
made to deal with this situation; dig out the deleted v1.0.1 of the addon
from /files/trash (if it's still there, which hopefully it is); or
worst-case scenario recreate the blocks manually.

I would be happy to help you resolve this in whatever way you're most
comfortable -- if you want to send me FTP/CPanel and C5 admin logins for
the site I can poke around and see what the best way to go is. Or I can get
on a skype/google-hangout with you, or a chat of some kind to walk you
through the steps involved. We can also try back-and-forth emails, but I'm
worried that the more time goes on, the more likely it is that the backup
code might disappear from /files/trash...

Feel free to email back directly at jordan@theblockery.com -- hopefully we
can get this fixed with as little pain as possible.

-Jordan
