Any plans to make a responsive version of this? The popups don't work on mobile devices.

No.

As we move this functionality into 5.7 as conversations that will all be responsive.

That's great thanks,
About time I gave the site an update anyway! ;-)

Ack! I just got this add-on for a members-only site that the forums were supposed to be a big part of, and many of the members are primarily using their phones to access the site. Is there any workaround for this, or a way to get quasi-responsive improvements? It's pretty unusable on a phone in its present state....

Not that we have in afraid. All of our responsive thinking is going into
5.7, where the need for forums is being replaced by built in conversations.

I understand completely. Unfortunately the best I can really do is offer a
refund. Making the discussion add-on for legacy concrete5.6 responsive is
not on our development roadmap.

My apologies for not being able to give you a more ideal answer.
