Clashes with Administrative Functions?
Permalink Browser Info Environment
Hi,
My administrative functions (editing of page etc and dashboard) disappears upon implementing the add-on which was a success btw.. Apart from that I can never edit the page again. Is this a bug or some error on my part..?
Thank you very much!
Alvin

Would you mind taking a look at my site to see why the admin functions disappeared? I don't recall using a minifier and haven't had much experience with HTML. I can play with CSS a little but that's about it.

Hi, Shine
At which page are the admin functions disappearing? All of them?

Hi, I think I might have visited most of the pages in your site and I have not found any javascript error. No signs of any kind of js/CSS minifier, either.
However, looks like the add-on you are using is not "Fancybox Links", but "Sortable Fancybox Gallery".

I am also using the Fancybox Gallery but that isn't on the same page as the Links. Right now, I only have fancybox links on the homepage. The page works great until I add the fancybox links block. Then admin functions disappear. However, if I log out from a different page, the page acts normal except the links just go to a regular page, not a pop-up.
I do have some HTML I just copied and pasted from facebook and paypal. All the HTML does what it's supposed to do, so that doesn't seem like the problem either.
Guess I'll just have to give it up for now. *sigh*

Hi, Shine
There are no traces of Fancybox Links in the page (no markup, no scripts), it's Sortable Fancybox Gallery what is getting loaded (see attached screenshot) (in fact there is a good amount of markup related to it, so there must be a block somewhere). If you added a Fancybox Links block to the page, it is not even getting loaded.
Since both add-ons are using different versions of the same script (Fancybox) that may cause problems if both are trying to load the script (I didn't see any JS error, though).
That's all I can think of right now.
Regards

I apologize. Just uninstalled it again since client wanted a particular edit and the page wasn't editable with the fancybox links. So sorry for wasting your time. I will just go another direction.
I just added the fancybox links block, and I am also experiencing the same problem as above.
I checked in the console for errors, and found this:
I never got to the point of adding a link to a block, because the edit interface was no longer available. I will let the page as is for the next two days, so if you have time you can look at it. Hope it can be fixed...

oddly enough, I noticed that the entire page name is not showing - it should be .../index.php/gastchoreografie

It seems that the issue happens because your theme is loading another fancybox version (to be exact, version 2.0.6) which conflicts with the one we are using. I'm sorry to say that at this moment there is no solution for that situation :-(
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. Could you please put me on the list for notification when it is better? It would be a very handy block to have available....
Thanks for your time and assistance - good luck with further development!
I just had another idea. I will contact the theme developer and ask him how I could extract the fancybox loader - I think he created the theme originally for Real Estate or Architects, and there's a lot of superfluous css/etc (superfluous for my needs)
Will keep on it and let you know!

From my experience, when the edit and dashboard buttons disappear it is usually due to:
- A malformed page structure (for instance, an HTML block with unclosed tags)
- A javascript error
Check for any of those in your case. If you are using Chrome/Chromium, to see javascript error messages press F12 and then click on "Console".
Also, if you are using a javascript/CSS minifier please try disabling it.
Finally, if your page have a public URL we can take a look into it.
