Can I give access to 5 different users to which they can only see their 5 different sets of files? Meaning, each of the 5 users has their own set of docs that only they can see and access? Thanks.

First you create five different groups, then put each user in a group.
Then if you want the files to appear on the same page, you add five FileTree blocks to the page, and change the settings for each block to include one of the groups you've created. The block won't be visible for other groups, except for a "permission denied" message that you can edit or remove in packages/file_tree/blocks/file_tree/view.php.
