Member-adjusted profiles

Permalink Browser Info Environment
This may be a stupid question. But here it goes. I need to create an internal membership directory for a client, in which each member will be able to upload his or her own photo and change the details on their own profile page. The directory will be restricted to those who have a login. (As admin, I would set up the permissions and the group and do the initial member entry.) So, each member would be able to view a directory of all the other members, and each would be able to access and edit his own profile page.

A few years ago, I did something similar in concrete5—way before 5.6 even—but doggone if I remember the process, or the block to display the member's profile information. So here is the dumb question. Is this what this add-on does? (I know. End users, can't live with them...)

Anyway, thanks for your help!

Hello Tim,

Thank you for your interest in "In Directory" by Informatics. We have two add-on modules that provide directory functionality - "In Directory" and "Staff Directory." You can review both to see which might fit your needs best.

Both can be placed behind permission based pages, however the ability to edit their own entry and not entries for others is beyond the scope of what it does today. Being open source you are free to customize our code to get your desired functionality. We will keep your idea in mind when we get a chance to work on new versions.

Thank you again and please let us know if you have any additional questions.
