Editing thumbnail and on page image issue.

Permalink Browser Info Environment
Hi there,

I was wondering if there is a way to make the on page image another picture other than the one that will be displayed in the lightbox. I want to create a gallery and show all the on page images same size but the add-on resize all images and as they are all different size I can't get it to have all the photos the same size on the gallery. Any work around or suggestion on this?

I've got a feeling that one of the other lightboxes available in the marketplace allows you to have different images for the thumbnails, perhaps explore those.

Otherwise you'd need to hack/modify the block to do this (which you're very welcome to do of course).

Keep in mind that my lightbox block wasn't really designed for creating galleries, it's more for ad-hoc images on a page that you want to be able to enlarge. It's ok for a handful of images, but with a large number I'd find it time consuming and would rather use a file set to manage the images.

I often use this:

as a base for galleries.

Hi Mesuva,

Thanks for your reply. I really like the lightboxed add-on cause it gives you the option to choose the lightbox effect. Hoewever, as you said, a file set will be less time consuming for a gallery. I did try those add-on above, yet I can't get to have the size of the thumbnails or gallery all the same which I want to do it for my design. These add-on will resize the image of the thumbnail according to the picture's proportion. Sorry if I didn't explain well but my intentions are not have a different image for the thumbnail but having all the thumbnails the same size lets say, 280x125 (which it is actually what I want). Any suggestion or recommendations on some other add-on I could use? If I could crop any section of my pictures to get it as a thumbnail of 280x125 instead of letting the add-on resizing the picture...

I just had another look at the thumbnail function for the lightboxed-image block.

If you edit /packages/lightboxed_image/blocks/lightboxed_image/controller.php, line 101, you can modify the getThumbnail line to crop the image:

$thumb = $ih->getThumbnail($f, $mw, $mh, true);

Try that and see if that does what you're after.

Hey Ryan,

This solution it actually let me put all the thumbnails in uniform size as I was trying to :). I can't crop the image and select what part of the photo I want to show as a thumbnail but letting me get uniform pictures is a lot!. You are awesome, thanks.:)
