Mega Menu IE error

Permalink Browser Info Environment
http://www.lifezone.org.nz

I have had my site checked by a friend (Windows 7 using IE). There appears to be a strange artifact at the top of the page. See screenshot.

How can I resolve this?

Thanks

Hi, I'm looking at the screenshot, but it's not obvious to me what the artifact is that you're referring to. Can you please clarify?

It is the block of white above the Lifezone logo.
It looks like a slice off the top of the menu with a white background.

thanks

should look like attached...

Ok, I understand. It's likely to be a template CSS issue that than mega menu.
But the most common causes of that kind of issue are:
1) absolute position for an element; or
2) a floated element that has gone astray.

I've also seen a browser bug that affects positioning under certain circumstances if a border-top is not applied to an element.

Hope this helps.

So there is no IE hack for this?

Or do I just mess with css until it looks ok in IE? The problem, of course, is that it will look bad in all the other browsers...

Its not likely to be the mega menu causing the problem as its been used on hundreds of websites and this is the only time an issue like this has arisen. So the theme is the most likely cause of the problem. As I'm sure you can understand, I'm unable to provide free general CSS/HTML support. So I would suggest taking out portions of your theme's CSS file until you can pinpoint which segment is causing the issue.

I figured it out. I had four line breaks in the html code before the Mega Menu to force it down the page.

Unfortunately I don't know which css tag to alter to get it 92px from the top of the browser. : (

That makes sense. If you want a margin above the mega menu, try this CSS code in your theme:
div.black ul.mega-menu{margin-top:20px;}

Hope this helps.
