Menu Loses Formatting when changing colour

Hi,
This could be something which I am doing wrong, so for now I am using the standard skin.
When I tried to change the background colour in the custom menu, the colour changed fine, but the formatting and appearance changed.
What I want to achieve is to keep the shiny skin appearance but be able to customise the menu colours.
Is there a simple way to do this as I am not great with css

Regarding the gradient colour you'll have to do that thoroughly there's a lot of tutorials on the internet how to achieve the gradient with css such as thishttp://www.colorzilla.com/gradient-editor/... . However, I cannot assure you that you can duplicate it perfectly because with the Pre-Built glossy is using images.
I suggest you use the Pre-built glossy with the blue skin since it closely matches your site.
