Logging in - website on a subdomain
Permalink Browser Info Environment
When I have a website on a subdomain, logging in takes me to "Page Not Found"
I don't know whether this is due to Multiple Domains or not, hoping you can help.
Here's an example:
Logging in at
http://wsa1.technicskeyboards.com/...
Takes me to:
http://wsa1.technicskeyboards.com/.technicskeyboards.com/...
Which gives "Page not Found".
Many thanks,
Mike

Yes I have that one ticked (but I do my own edits from the main domain as suggested). When users log in they are redirected to the page not found mentioned above. Maybe it's not your code though, I'm using the popup login addon.
I suggest trying out the normal login page and then seeing if it works normally.
Thanks I've just tried that and it also redirects to the Page not Found.
Correction - the normal login box redirects to page not found. The normal login page directs to the users profile as intended.
OK, what is the URL after the redirection?
http://wsa1.technicskeyboards.com/.technicskeyboards.com/

I assume you have applied the navigation helper override on your site?

And if yes, could you try whether it works without it?
I had an old version in place. When I added the new version you pointed me to it didn't fix the problem.
When I tried without the helper, it redirects to the correct page (home page of the subdomain)

I did a small update to the navigation helper override instructions, could you try with the new code?
Here's the redirection I get with the new code:
http://wsa1.technicskeyboards.com/.technicskeyboards.com/wsa1/...
Looks like you are going in the right direction

This is just a reminder that you had to change something in the htaccess on my site to make it work.
I'm not sure what you changed but I thought I had better remind you in case it is different for other sites.

Can you try renaming the page URL slug to something else than /wsa1?
Like /wsa1site
Like /wsa1site
Thanks I've renamed it to wsa1home and that seems to work.
I try to avoid using the same url slugs but sometimes forget as my sites have a few thousand pages now. I also experienced problems with forum pages mainly because of the "excluded words" list. So I've deleted all the excluded words. Members often use similar headings in their posts which can become a problem in the forums.
Thanks for your help, shall I just leave it named that way now?
Thanks again,
Mike

Yeah, I think that should keep the problem from replicating.
Thank you!
Extreme support as always, I'm very grateful.
...and I'll be getting your 5.7 version in the near future.
