Experiencing slowness with large PB database (100+ posts)

One of my clients has been experiencing massive slowness issues on their site (page loads of 20+ seconds at times). We've done as much as we can to optimize the speed, but my tech team has discovered that ProBlog is contributing to the slowness when the archive is over 100+ posts or so. We tried a vanilla installation for comparison's sake, as well as looking at other clients who use the add-on, to establish a baseline.
In any case, we wanted to alert you to this.
