Hidden User Attribute
Permalink Browser Info Environment
This appears to not be working.
I keep getting a series of errors like this:
'An attribute with the handle degree_expand already exists.'
When creating the Hidden User Attribute question, I create a unique name and handle for this question under the 'General' tab, and then, under the 'Settings' tab, I select the user attribute that I want hidden and press save.
It appears the handle field under 'General' is becoming autofilled by the handle of the user attribute I'm targeting under the 'Settings' tab, thus the error message.

I figured out the problem...now seeking a solution.
The conflict exists because I've already used the targeted user attribute in ProForms. I used Proforms to make a prettier, and fairly extensive registration process and associated the Proforms questions with the user attribute. Now I want the registered members to sign up for an event and I want to pass their user details on without having them complete the form they already completed upon registration. My client want member demographics for each event.
Any suggestions on how to pass these details on w Proforms even though the user attributes are already in use. Give a cost estimate if you must. Thank you.

you should be able to use the "associated user" or "hidden user attribute" question types to get what you want here. These are different than the register user question type.

Thank you for you prompt reply.
I actually figured out a solution.
But I'm not sure you understood the conflict I was having with ProForms already using a series of user attribute handles for a registration form. The 'hidden user attribute' wants to use the same user attribute handles. ProForms can't have two questions using the same handle.
It's an either or scenario. I can't have the ProForms registration and simultaneously push that user data into the conference data via the 'hidden user attribute'. It's a handle conflict.
I've decided to drop ProForms for the registration process and simply revert to the default C5 registration. I'm going to use Proforms to simply port the user data into conference data.
I'm just letting you know this, because if a solution were found, it would be quite powerful.
That said, I really like this product. It's been very helpful.
Thank you.
