Populate user attributes from a form

Permalink Browser Info Environment
I am trying to build a form where users could fill in their basic details like first name and last name and also register a username.

How can I get the filled in form field values associated to the user attributes?

I have tried naming the attributes similarly in the form and in user attributes but the values don't get attached.

User registration works fine and the user is also being attached to a selected group.

We don't currently have a publish user question type to connect questions/attributes. Ideally it would function exactly like the publish to page question type.

It's a bit complicated but we could expedite this and develop this for you for $675.
