Arbitrary ordered option?

Permalink Browser Info Environment
A request:

Would it be possible to have an increment/cycle option added to this block?

In other words, in addition to the default random behavior, the content manager has the option to cycle through a file set according to some arbitrary order criteria (your choice - no options), instead.

In cases where only a few images exist in the file set being randomized, true random can result in some images being displayed more often than others.

Thank you for considering my request!

Hi,
I understand your request, but unfortunately it's not something I will be able to implement for free. It requires a bit of work (because the block must "remember" which was the last-displayed image from one page request to another), and this addon isn't something I use much in my own projects so I must prioritize other things on my extensive todo first.

If this is something you have a budget for, though, let me know and I can provide an estimate for you.

Best,
Jordan

No worries, then. I have a cookie-driven code snippet that does something similar, just thought I'd ask in case you already had something similar "back-pocketed" for this block. Cycling behavior is not a requirement at this stage, so I'm happy to use the block as-is. If cycling behavior does become a requirement, perhaps I'll get in touch! :)

Thanks for the swift reply!
