Hi Jordan
I know that this is low priority now but is there anyway of getting Alt Tags on the thumbnails?

The "title" attribute of each image is used for the thumbnail alt tag. To set the "title" attribute, find the image in the File Manager, click on its thumbnail there, choose "Properties" from the popup menu, then click on the underlined "Title" label, and enter some text in the box, then hit Enter to save (or click the little pencil icon to the right of the textbox you're typing into).

Let me know if you run into any trouble with this.

Hi Jordan

I ran in to some trouble :(
I am currently using the title attribute to get image description to appear in the lightbox. I am being greedy and want a description and an Alt tag too but i want different text for each.

Update: Problem solved, just had to play around with Title and Description and make sure info was in both. Thanks for your reply Jordan, made me think about the problem some more.

Hi Jordan,

Sorry if this is not related to the gallery but shouldn't this approach on the alt tag work in the content block as well, I tried this and does not make any difference to the alt tag.

The code for this gallery block and the content block are completely different, so they don't necessarily work in the same way. I personally have never tried to change the content block alt tags so unfortunately I don't have an answer for you off the top of my head. You might want to try searching the general forums for questions about the content block's alt tags (or posting a new question about it if you don't find something already).

Best of luck,
Jordan
