File sets not loading

Hi, when adding the block to a page the file set drop down remains on "Loading..." I've removed the installation and re-installed, have also tried the simple image gallery add-on with the same effect, using C5 version 5.4.2.2 and Chrome on PC.

Do you have at least one file set in the file manager?
Yes, I've even tried deleting and reloading the images to the set thinking I may have a corrupt image in the set.

For future reference: the problem turned out to be that the addon was manually installed in a location other than the "packages" directory. Addons should always be installed to the "packages" directory otherwise they may not work properly (such as in this case).
