Image Protection

Thanks for a great block. Is there a way I can overlay the enlarged images with a transparent gif to make it harder for viewers to save the original image? This would be very handy.

Thanks

Hi Jack,
Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately there is no way to do this with this gallery (and it's probably not something I'm going to add to it).

I've actually never seen image protection done this way before -- I always thought the only ways to protect images were to either use Flash or to use low-quality watermaked images. I guess I learn something new every day!

Anyway, the Flash gallery that's available on the marketplace might be a better solution for you in this case (although it isn't free).

Yeh ive found it a fairly good technique, simply use the image you want to display as the block background and then place a transparent gif in the block, I may be wrong but I believe flickr use a similar method to protect photos.Anyways cheers for your reply Ill take a look at the flash gallery.
