More than one menu on home page

Permalink Browser Info Environment
I've created a main horizontal menu at the top of the home page and want to create a vertical menu on the same page, which is not related to the horizontal menu at all.

So far, I've been able to create the second menu, as long as it is created from the drop-down main menu.

Does Superfish allow creating a second independent menu? If so, how?

Did you ever figure this out? I'd like to do the same without having to use PageList.

Thanks,

Spence,

Yes. Superfish let me create more than one independent menu on the home page. I set up the main menu as a horizontal drop-down menu at the top, then set up a second menu as a vertical drop-down menu on the left side.

To do so, there are 3 main things that needed to be done:

1. SET UP SECOND MENU STRUCTURE

Through the Dashboard, click on Site Map and set up an additional menu item on the first menu (e.g., Home Page Sidebar Menu), then set up all of the drop-down items (as usual).

2. PLACE SECOND MENU ON WEB PAGE

On the home page (or whatever page you want the second menu), add the Superfish block to wherever you want the second menu to appear. Edit Superfish block settings to set "Display Page" to "beneath a particular page" and set that page to be whatever you called the first menu item (e.g., Home Page Sidebar Menu).

At this point, the second menu will appear in the location you placed it, but it will also appear as a drop-down item on the first menu.

3. MAKE SECOND MENU INDEPENDENT OF FIRST MENU

In Dashboard, Site Map, click on the "Home Page Sidebar Menu", click Properties, click Custom Attributes tab, scroll down and check "Exclude from Nav(igation)".

Once this is completed, everything should be working fine. The second menu will still appear, and the duplicate drop-down item will no longer appear in the first menu.
