Pre sales - url re-mapping

Permalink Browser Info Environment
Hi,

I am converting a web site to concrete5 and want to keep my seo links the same. If I use URL Director, can i achieve the following:

URL of existing site:http://mydomain.com/page1.html
concrete5 url example:http://mydomain.com/category/page1/...

and if achievable, are there any overheads or seo issues? Does google see the mapping as a redirect?

Kind Regards

Nigel
