Image slider with Aca template selected causes fatal PHP error

Permalink Browser Info Environment
Hi. Firstly, great you've updated the theme for v9, good job!

I've added the image slider block to my homepage in the Header area. I've set the Design and Block template to Aca Animate Slider.

Now the page is throwing a php error "Undefined variable $width" in /absolute/packages/ds_academy57/blocks/image_slider/templates/aca_animate_slider/view.php line 5.

Help with this would be really appreciated - I have a client waiting to see their site.

Should have said - the error is present when entering Edit Mode on the page, not when simply viewing the page

Actually, no, it's all the time. I've had to hack the $width and $height to be able to remove the slider to get my site working again.

Hi simonchilton,

I will look into this to address the issue in installing the Academy Theme using PHP8.0.8 version. I have tested out the Crimson theme using PHP7.4 but will investigate other PHP versions.

Best regards,
Neil

Hi simonchilton,

The Academy Theme is now updated for the PHP 8.0 compatibility. Let me know if you already updated copy without any error.

Best regards,
Neil
