You need to use the built in theme customization options:

In the top tool bar click the 'cog' icon then choose 'design' and then 'customize'. If you look through the options there is a 'Main' section, simply change the 'Padding Top' to your desired distance.

Right now I have the padding set to 0 but there is still a big distance between the banner and the first line of text that I can not change.. I also tried to move the block but it does not work.
