Background image

Permalink Browser Info Environment
Guys

I've bought your theme for site no 2 thanks. Having a very similar problem with the background image. I have set this in Design. The image is 1800 px by 800px.

I have set in Theme/ Settings/Background images to No repeat, Autosize, fixed. I expected it to sit at the top of the page and cover it all given the depth.

What is is doing is sitting 100px from the top with a white space? I have tried using repeat y but this causes the image to display as attached:

See:http://91.109.7.116/~demo160216...

What I need is the background image to fit against the top under the nav and autosize so the tapes are not distorting on larger screens. Repeat y would be fine!

How do I do the please?

Ian

Sounds like you want this to work exactly like the 'Arizona' starting point but with a custom image - in that case the 'background-size' needs to be set to 'cover'.

Hi

Thanks. That does work but when the screen size enlarges the image ( in particular the tape) distorts.

I tried to over come this with a very ;large image (1800 x 600px) hoping this would sit against the top centre of the home page and work on most screens.

Can we do this please?

Yours

You are setting the background image on the 'body' so this will of course change the position of it when the screen size is different... as the body becomes bigger/smaller.

In our Arizona staring point we use an abstract background so this is not an issue but as you have very specific subject matter that requires more specific placement.

Why don't you just remove the BG image from the body and simply color it blue. Then why don't you add the BG image to the Section block that was installed on the home page by default. That way the BG image will always be in view.

This theme gives a lot of flexibility on what is otherwise something a designer/developer has to hardcode in to the design. However the understanding of how this functionality helps build a specific design is still the designer/developers responsibility.

OK. I thought the theme might have the option to fix the background somewhere and it seems not. I’ll run with your suggestion - thank you. Close.
