Changing Clearview theme to Fundamental
Permalink Browser Info Environment
I'm wanting to change the theme of my website from Clearview which currently uses Conc 5.6.3.3 with no Conc5 updates available if I search for any. Presumably this is because the present theme won't work with later versions of Conc5.
Fundamental is based on Conc 5.7+.
Is there an easy way of updating my version of Conc5 to be applicable for Fundamental without losing the content of the existing website which will form the basis of the new look website content or do I effectively have to start from scratch with Fundamental? ie lose my present theme in order to upgrade Conc5 to 5.7+ to then be able to install Fundamental?
Many thanks
Roger

At this point in time it is a rebuild. The two systems are entirely different and there is not upgrade path.
Hi,
Thanks for your previous reply. I've now built my new Fundamental site in Conc 5.7 and want to replace my old website but I want to make sure I swap it over so it works!
When I made my Clearview site live I had to copy the contents of the folder I'd constructed the website under into public_html and then go into config/site.php and add a line of code as follows : define('BASE_URL', 'http://domain-name.com.');
Looking in the config file for Fundamental there is no site.php but app.php and database.php instead (also doctrine folder and generated_overrides folder).
I haven't had to replace a website before where I had to alter the CMS from Conc 5.6 to 5.7. I'd like to keep the old site safe just in case I have to revert to it for some unforeseen reason so I'm unsure which files I need to take out of public_html and into a new folder I'll name "Oldsite". I presume I will need to do this first, then alter the php version of public_html to support the new Conc 5.7 site and then move the contents of my Fundamental folder (where my new Fundamental website) currently sits to public_html.
Is this correct?
Is there a flowchart/checklist of things I need to do and the correct order that I can just follow to achieve the above? I'm good at following clear instructions - but just need to be confident that I have the right instructions! I'd prefer to learn how to do it myself if possible as I may well update other websitse in future.
Many thanks for your help.

This is not covered by support I'm afraid - it is general concrete5 information you need rather than package/theme support. You can find info on making your site live in the concrete5.org forums.
