Questions before we buy
Permalink Browser Info Environment
We are interested in purchasing your Metris theme, but we have a couple questions.
1. Can the slider be stopped and started again at a click by the user, or do we simply set the length of time that each slide is shown?
2. Can each menu block be a different color?
3. Can background colors be added to content blocks?
4. I have Concrete 5 v8.1. Will this theme work on it at all - or, do you happen to know - can I downgrade to a previous version of C5?
None of these are deal breakers - I just need to answer some questions for my inexperienced clients. Thanks!

Thank you! I appreciate the attention.
I've purchased and installed the Metris theme on my c5.6 site. However, the functionality seems odd. I have another c5.6 site with another theme, and when I click to edit a block, it gives me the choice of types of blocks. It appears that available to me right now are only content blocks (though I see all block types are installed properly), but without formatting options. I also can't find where I install the Vidall slider.
I'm not sure if it's really an issue, or just user error after being used to another theme. Suggestions?

Hi There,
I have just set up a test copy and its working fine for me, when you click on a block that already has content in it, you will only get the option to edit the content, if you click on an "Add to XXXX" area, you get the option to add blocks.
Have you had a chance to check out the documentation videos? they walk you through setting up the theme from start to finish.
you can see them all here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkrE0Lgvkdg&list=PLIJHVGhmAjXIu6...
Best regards
David

Is there a way to make the text within the navigation blocks two lines? The client wants two and three word navs (Online Resources, About the Library, etc.) That makes the nav way too long. If there was a way to make each heading two or three lines, that might remedy the situation.
I didn't see this addressed on the home page video tutorial.
Thanks!

"1. Can the slider be stopped and started again at a click by the user, or do we simply set the lengh of time that each slide is shown?"
No sorry it cant, just the delay between slide transitions, there is a 3rd party version of Flexslider which does have all options present though.
"2. Can each menu block be a different color?"
No sorry they cant, you can change the overall colour of the menu, but not individual nav items.
"3. Can background colors be added to content blocks?"
Dont quote me on this, but I think you can do this via concrete5 itself, the theme has an option to alter the background colour of all content blocks, but not on a block by block basis.

No the theme will not function at all on versions 7 or 8, you will need a c5.6 install for it to run, its also worth noting that the UI and editing interface of version 6 is completely different to versions 7 and 8.
Hope this helps.
Best regards
