What should I add to \application\config\app.php in order to redirect visitors to Coming Soon page when site is in maintenance mode?

Currently I have this:

'theme_paths' => [
        '/login' => 'pixel',
        '/register' => 'pixel',
        '/frontend/maintenance_mode' => 'pixel',
    ],

but it's not working - I receive this error "Call to a member function css() on null" when accessing the site as a guest. Login and register pages are working.
