It does not have anything to do with the theme. Please check the general forum, I already see a few topics for this issue:

Hmm, it might be a theme error.

Am having the invalid marketplace item ID problem on a fresh install of 8.4.1 so installed this theme manually, resetting the contents.

Now get the following error..

An unexpected error occurred.
syntax error, unexpected ''/home/arteage/' (T_ENCAPSED_AND_WHITESPACE)

If I switch back to Elemental then the site works again. Switching back to Pixel 2 and the error occurs again.

Applied the following marketplace patch ..

https://github.com/concrete5/concrete5/issues/6915...

Completely uninstalled Pixel2 and then re-installed.

Marketplace patch now works on both add-ons and themes but still get that error with the Pixel2 theme.

Clearing the cache seems to have fixed my problem.
