Changing width of columns in bootstrap layouts not possible

Steps to reproduce:

1. Choose page template "complete"
2. Add layout to main page area
3. Select 2 columns using bootstrap framework
4. Now, try to change the width of the columns

Expected behaviour:
Column width should change accordingly when dragging the handle

Experienced behaviour:
Changing columns in a controlled way is not possible. Sometimes trying to change them results in erros. See screenshots.
