How-to add background picture with parallax effect

Permalink Browser Info Environment
Dear Xanweb Support,

how can I add a background image, which is displayed with a parallax-effect on vertical scrolling, similar as it is done in your demo website ("Our projects and more")?

I have not found this option anywhere.

Many thanks for your support,
Christian

Dear Christian,

Parallax is ConcreteCMS feature, you can check the following tutorial:
https://documentation.concretecms.org/tutorials/how-to-add-parallax-...

Hope that helps.

Dear Xanweb Support,

many thanks for your fast response.

I knew the guide and walked through the steps before opening my ticket. I was not able to enable the parallax effect at all. Let me explain below. It would be great, if you have an idea / hint why it is not working.

I have tried the following steps:
1. tested it on several column layouts on my page, with consistent behavior:
- I am able to set the background image, but there is no "custom template" dropbox under "Advanced", where I could select Parallax
- But, there is a Parallax option under "Block Template" in the general layout settings. As soon as I select this, the background image is not displayed at all.

2. I tried it on a demo installation with Atomik theme --> same behavior

3. I tried it on my Replica Pro demo instance --> same behavior.

I added a few screenshots, showing what I see, when I try to configure Parallax.

It would be great, if you have an idea / hint why it is not working.

Kind regards,
Christian

it appears that there is an issue with Core parallax, we've already announced it in githubhttps://github.com/concrete5/concrete5/issues/10559...

As a temporarily workaround you can use the following class for any Area `ccm-custom-style-fullwidth1` as mentioned in the attached screenshot.

Hope that helps,

Dear Xanweb Support Team,

many thanks for your double check and the identification of a potential bug in the current 9.0.2 version.

Your proposed workaround did work right away!

I can continue working - I am happy.

Kind regards,
Christian
