Image Slider - Overlay color?

Permalink Browser Info Environment
I am using the Image Slider. The images though seem to have a transparent color overlaying them that results in the image being "duller" like a transparent light grey over them, I was looking through the CSS for the object and couldn't find anything that was seemingly effecting it.

Ideas?
e.g., this is one image how it normally looks:
https://newsite.iowaascd.org/application/files/8916/5221/8383/Learn_...

And that attachment is of the image in the slider bar.
(can see it here too:https://newsite.iowaascd.org/index.php)...

FYI I temporarily switched to another theme and then the colors were true in the slider, so its something in the theme CSS but I can't seem to identify it.

Hi Plschneide,

We just released a new version (v2.5.6), and it should contain a fix for your mentioned issue.
We have added a new "Image Slider Overlay" customization variable which will help you set your wanted color or even make it transparent.
Please clear your cache, re-select your wanted preset and retry.

Kind Regards,

That is great news.

It looks like the update isn't yet available in the marketplace. I logged in and it indicated no updates were available.

So good news - I was able to update.

However - couple items
1. I customized Blue Hawaii and added some CSS.After saving it - when I went back to check some items I get a "white" screen and can't see any of the options to turn on or off.
2. I then changed to blue hawaii and changed the overlay to transparent. Cleared cache of the site - and browser - but I'm still seeing the same thing as before (double checked to see if server cache was on too, and it wasn't)

Thoughts or anything I can do to help resolve?

Attached is a comparison of with this theme and it set to "transparent" and another theme. - You can see the color difference.
Let me know what else I can do to help you help me :-)

Hi Plschneide,

Thank you for the detailed explanation of the issue.
After re-executing the same steps we figured out that there is a Core bug with the Clear Color button ( See screenshot - Red Circle )
Alternatively, In order to get the transparent color, you can drag the slide to the left and then click on Choose (See screenshot Green Circle ).
Hopefully, this will help you get the expected result.
Please let us know if you still facing any problems.

So good news is that worked.

Bad news is when I make a change to the theme and save it - but then go back and try to edit the "modified version" - its stuck and won't load (like in the video - white nothing there).

I've resigned myself to needing to make all the changes again (I mostly remember them) - but I can't do so until I can edit the modified version of "blue Hawaii" - I suspect I need to just clean something out of the database?

I also - to try - picked a different set (other than blue hawaii) - modified a few items, saved for entire site, but then when I go back the "modified" version doesn't show up - just shows modified blue hawaii and when I goto the main template its what it starts as (my changes not there - which is what I would expect - I would expect that my modified version of that theme set would show up and could edit and adjust)

So not sure if this was the best approach but I removed the values from the database table
CollectionVersionThemeCustomStyles

This removed the customized listing and then I was able to customize the theme - avoiding the bug I found and you confirmed (for transparency) and everything seems to be working fine.

If you think there are other data fields that would be best cleaned up let me know (was trying to cross reference but I don't know the ID and table relations well), but theme seems to be working well now and the new field resolved the transparency.

Hi Plschneide,

We think that there were some invalid stored style values that were preventing the preset edition from working properly.
Your approach to solving the issue is acceptable.
You can safely keep the database at its current state as cleaning up the related tables is a bit complicated and may cause critical issues.
