Main nav using mobile code randomly

Permalink Browser Info Environment
Seb, we are still having problems with our site (angelsofassisi.org). It randomly loads the main menu using the mobile version of the code for our non-mobile site (see attached screenshot), making the main menu unusable. There doesn't seem to be any common reason that causes it (different operating systems, different browsers, and sometimes it lodes correctly, sometimes not).

<div id="main-nav" class="col_8 last">
                <select class="nav-select" id="mobile_nav"><option SELECTED class="nav-selected nav-path-selected" value="/" target="_self"> Home</option><option  class="" value="/about/" target="_self"> About Us ↓</option><option  class="" value="/about/hours-directions/" target="_self">› Hours & Directions</option><option  class="" value="/about/partners/" target="_self">› Our Partners</option><option  class="" value="/about/board/" target="_self">› Board of Directors</option><option  class="" value="/about/staff/" target="_self">› Our Staff</option><option  class="" value="/about/tours/" target="_self">› Tours</option><option  class="" value="/about/events/" target="_self">› Events Calendar</option><option  class="" value="/about/contact-us/" target="_self">› Contact Us</option><option  class="" value="/adopt/" target="_self"> Adopt ↓</option><option  class="" value="/adopt/how-adopt/" target="_self">› How to Adopt</option><option  class="" value="/adopt/cats/" target="_self">› Cats</option><option  class="" value="/adopt/dogs/" target="_self">› Dogs</option><option  class="" value="/adopt/small-animals/" target="_self">› Small Animals</option><option  class="" value="/adopt/after-adoption/" target="_self">› After Adoption</option><option  class="" value="/adopt/courtesy/" target="_self">› Courtesy Listings</option><option  class="" value="/adopt/bcb/" target="_self">› Barn Cat Buddies</option><option  class="" value="/services/" target="_self"> Services ↓</option><option  class="" value="/services/spay-neuter/" target="_self">› Spay & Neuter Clinic</option><option  class="" value="/services/well-pet/" target="_self">› Well Pet Clinic</option><option  class="" value="/services/sick-pet/" target="_self">› Sick Pet Clinic</option><option  class="" value="/services/feral-cat/" target="_self">› Feral Cat Clinic</option><option  class="" value="/services/appointments/" target="_self">› Appointment Request</option><option  class="" value="/services/pharmacy/" target="_self">› Pharmacy</option><option  class="" value="/services/grooming/" target="_self">› Grooming</option><option  class="" value="/programs/" target="_self"> Programs ↓</option><option  class="" value="/programs/pets-life/" target="_self">› Pets for Life</option><option  class="" value="/programs/hospice/" target="_self">› Hospice</option><option  class="" value="/programs/domestic-violence/" target="_self">› Domestic Violence</option><option  class="" value="/programs/biscuit/" target="_self">› Biscuit Fund</option><option  class="" value="/programs/harmony-farm/" target="_self">› Harmony Farm</option><option  class="" value="/programs/rx/" target="_self">› Prescription Discounts</option><option  class="" value="/get-involved/" target="_self"> Get Involved ↓</option><option  class="" value="/get-involved/donate/" target="_self">› Donate</option><option  class="" value="/get-involved/volunteer/" target="_self">› Volunteer</option><option  class="" value="/get-involved/foster/" target="_self">› Foster</option><option  class="" value="/get-involved/wishlist/" target="_self">› Donation Wishlist</option><option  class="" value="/get-involved/virtual-fundraisers/" target="_self">Virtual Fundraisers</option><option  class="" value="/get-involved/community-service/" target="_self">› Community Service</option><option  class="" value="/resources/" target="_self"> Resources ↓</option><option  class="" value="/resources/shelter-enrichment/" target="_self">› Shelter Enrichment</option><option  class="" value="/resources/local-pet-limits/" target="_self">› Local Pet Limits</option><option  class="" value="/resources/foster-resources/" target="_self">› Foster Resources</option><option  class="" value="/resources/applications/" target="_self">› Applications</option><option  class="" value="/resources/petretention/" target="_self">› Pet Retention</option><option  class="" value="/resources/surrendering-pet/" target="_self">› Surrendering a Pet</option></select><!-- Mobile nav Generated in 0.51470112800598 secs -->            </div>

Help would be very much appreciated. Seems some people are having the problem quite often. Thank you!

Hi,

I know this issue that i will solve in next update. YOu need to deactivate the full page caching to let the navigation use the right version.

Hopefully the update will help (and will be soon) because we already had full page caching deactivated and still had the problem (thought I just cleared the cache, just in case that helps). Thanks.

Any idea when the update will be out? The fix mentioned hasn't been helping.

Also, suddenly, just today, our homepage won't load properly, even though no changes have been made since the 4th for the page, and even when I try to go back to a previous version (any of them), it still won't load right. Won't even show the C5 options at the top of the page when I'm logged in, but only for this one page. Thank you!

The mobile nav is linked to a cache setting. Please play with these settings to avoid the issue until the update.

Please tell me more about the page that doesn't load right (screenshot, url,..)

Sorry, he told me late last night as I was heading to bed. No revisions were made since 2/4, but it eas displaying fine yesterday morning. Now looks like the first screenshot I'm attaching (angelsofassisi.org).

Second screenshot is another page (angelsofassisi.org/about), and what they should look like. Notice the C5 options across the top are missing, also the slider (we have one on ever page) and the rest of the content.

He said he made no other changes to the site from the backend either. I'm assuming he had to have changed *something*, but I have no idea what it could have been, given there were no recent revisions to the page. If I recall correctly, this happened once before when I was first setting up their site. I didn't figure out what was wrong, but just completely redid the site. That would be MUCH more of a pain in the butt this time, given everything that was on the page (and trying to remember how it was set up).

I'm used to being able to just edit pages via backend code directly on the page, but can't do that with C5 site (I'm a web designer/developer and volunteered to help set up a site for them, but they needed one they could edit easily themselves. I read about C5....and this is my first time using it). Very frustrating. Thanks for any thoughts you might have...the homepage is sort of important, lol.

Have any thoughts yet? We've gone several days now with no homepage, and since it won't even let us into edit the page, I cannot fix...and and since it's the homepage, I cannot just delete it and redo it as it will not allow deleting or replacing the main page. I can send you a copy of the DB if that would help. Need to fix asap.

FYI. I went back through "versions". Last one not broken was "initial" version of the homepage with the layout with no header. So I went back to that, but as soon as I go from that version and do nothing but change to the layout with header, so I can add the slider, it breaks again. Yet, I'm using that layout on all other pages, so I don't know what is causing it to break when I switch to that layout other than some content somewhere, in some block, even though I'm not using it in that initial version of the page. DB is a huge headache to try and figure out where to look for a problem.

Never mind...FIXED IT! He had added an image to the slide that was a PNG, that seemed to break the whole page! Took it out and that fixed the page.
