3 queries since moving to Slate Theme

Hi C5 Mix,
As mentioned previously Slate's a great product, so much so I have moved the desktop site to utilise Slate. So of course I have had a few tweaks to make, which has gone well.
I have a few questions that should tidy up everything.
1. The Main Nav renders correctly on my desktop, and mobile. But on a tab holding it width-ways (Samsung, Kindle), a Nav Item drops to the next row. Can you advise where I can make the change to decrease the spacing between the Nav Items?
2. . The width of the Slate Theme (Desktop) is slightly wider than the theme I was using previously. Can this be decreased - as this may resolve the issue outlined in Q1?
3. In preparation for any Slate updates - do I need to copy the Slates Theme from packages to \Themes? I have made changes to header/footer - what happens to these if I leave them where they are and an update is applied?
Cheers

Sorry for the delayed response - I was on vacation over the holidays.
1. Add this to the "Add your CSS" box in the theme's customization panel (Dashboard->Pages and Themes->Themes and click Customize next to Slate):
Change 1em to whatever value you want.
2. You can change the max-width by adding this to the CSS box:
Change 1100px to whatever you want.
3. Yeah you should be able to override the package by copying the modified files to themes/slate. If you currently just modified the ones in packages/theme_slate/themes/slate they will get over written on update.

#container { max-width: 1100px; }

Just need a steer on Q1 and Q3 please
