Customising Slate - newbie questions

Permalink Browser Info Environment
Hi

Let's say I want to change the background colour of the nav menu. Or change the position of an element. I know it's in the main.css file, but how do I customise this without losing those changes next time I upgrade concrete or slate?

What about other files? Should I copy any customised files to another area in concrete or should I use the Customize option next to the Theme. Which is the recommended way?

The Customize panel (customize button next to the theme) will save all your changes even when you upgrade. So if it's only CSS changes it's probably best to do it there. Also see this how-to:http://www.concrete5.org/documentation/how-tos/designers/modify-a-p...
