Extending header, nav bar, and footer

Is it possible to extend the header area, the nav bar, and the footer so that they spread across the whole window, rather than being contained? The concrete 5 website is a good example of this. If this is possible, please give instructions on how to do it. Thanks!

It's possible, with some modification. You'd have to move the header, nav and footer elements outside of the #container div first. Then you'd have to modify/style those elements accordingly
