Global Header Content

Permalink Browser Info Environment
Hi,

I'm unable to figure out how we add content to the header that will appear exactly the same on every page globally?

On the home pagehttp://parkprimaryschool.co.uk you will see we have the school's contact details and a search field. We would like this to appear on every page.

I've tried adding blocks to the 'Header Content' stack but this has no effect?

I've tried searching in the Concrete5 forums but haven't found the answer as it appears most of the info related to similar queries is out of date.

Any guidance would be most appreciated.

Thanks

Basically you want to add your blocks to Header Content stack. Then, using Page Defaults add that stack to all page types. See docs here:

Thanks for your reply, I appreciate your help.

I had already tried to edit the Page Types Defaults but when I select a page type and click edit I was not given any editing options.

Having searched the Concrete5 forums again, the most recent post regarding this issue that I could find was this:
http://www.concrete5.org/community/forums/jobs1/cannot-edit-page-ty...

My colleague who has 'superadmin' permissions was able to edit the pages but I am still unable to, despite the fact as an 'administrator' I have permission to 'Access Task Permissions' (see attached)?

If only the 'superadmin' user can make changes to the page defaults, this isn't very practical for a small team working together on a large site.

Personally I find much of how content management is handled by Concrete5 very unintuitive.

First, try having the "superadmin" go to the Task Persmissions page and hit the Save button. Then clear the site cache and see if you have access to page type defaults. If not, then have the superadmin open up a page type default and go to Edit->Permissions and make sure Administrators have editing rights.

Thanks once again for your help!

Your second suggestion worked and I now have full editing permissions for the page type defaults as an administrator.

'Superadmin' had to manually change the permissions for each page type, which seems a cumbersome way of doing things and I still don't understand why the 'Task Permission' pane stated all administrators already had editing permissions for default page types.

Without your guidance we probably would not have solved this.

You're welcome!
Yeah, I think that might be a bug or something.
