jplayer conflict with superfish navigation

Permalink Browser Info Environment
Hi

I need to run jquery & jplayer scripts on some pages of my site to enable some interactivity functions. I uploaded the jplayer script to my root/js folder and inserted this code in Header Extra Content of those pages.
<script type='text/javascript' src="/js/jquery.jplayer.min.js"></script>

I then discovered that for these pages with jplayer, the superfish navigation dropdown menu does not work. Whilst I can trigger the dropdown when the mouse hovers over, nothing happens when I click on it.

I conclude there is some kind of conflict between jplayer and superfish.

I am aware this might not be a direct result of me using the Slate theme but I was hoping C5Mix can be kind enough to point me to the right solution.

Many thanks

Attached: page source code in <head></head> section for the pages affected. FYI

Can you post a link to a page of your site where this is happening. Thanks.

Well it's not just links in the nav, the logo link wont work, nor does the breadcrumb links. I'm not sure what's causing it. I would recommend try a google search on this. Another thought, are you sure it's jplayer? Could it be the Disqus addon?

It's not disqus. Other pages with exactly the same addons (i.e. disqus and AddThis) are working fine. Just to be sure, I deleted the disqus block and the problem persists.

Do you think it might be a case of my adding the jplayer script to in the Header Extra Content? I read in the C5 forums that developers fiddle with controller.php and then amend the header.php file to bring in scripts. Would the latter method be more sound?

Sorry - totally at a loss at with what to do.

I'm really not sure. It's not throwing any errors so I don't know what's causing it. Did you do a google search on jplayer conflict and find anything?

Yes I did and I found many reported cases of conflicts with fancybox.js. I have trouble understanding the discussions or purported solutions - I have very little programming knowledge.

I will live with the broken links and navigation in the Header section for the time being - have placed an autonav block on the sidebar as a temporary workaround.

Thanks for being engaged with me this far.
