Move Required Asterisks next to names

Permalink Browser Info Environment
Hello,

I've noticed in the eCommerce add-on that on my billing page the Email Address has an asterisks immediately next to the name: Email Address*, while other fields (i.e., First Name, Last Name, etc. have the asterisks placed under the name

First Name
*

I was told that this had something to do with how eCommerce and particular themes work together, something about eCommerce css/html markup and the theme styles. Mike also noted that it has to do with the span and label as some themes set the label to be inline and some set it to block.

Any idea on how I can bump up these asterisks so that they are on the same line with the field names: First Name* Last Name*, Address*, etc.

You can see it here on this site (found it in the eCommerce showcase) when you add an item to cart and checkout:

and also fix it here under the "Quantity" label:

Quantity
*

http: //www.natralife.co.uk/all/acai-berry-supreme/

Thank you!

Add this to the Custom CSS box in the theme's customization panel (Dashboard->Pages and Themes and click Customize next to Slate):
#container label, #container legend {
    display: inline!important;
}

So I inserted this code into the "Add Your CSS" and it didn't change a thing.

But then it got me wondering. Since this and the header background image code has not worked in the "Add Your CSS", could the Add Your CSS not be working right?

I did clear the cache in the Dashboard and the asterisks still seem to be below the name.

Thanks,

Wait, just looking at the source code of your site...did you create a copy of slate called "slate_custom" and install that instead?? If so, is that installed as a separate theme? How is that set up? That's probably what the issue is.

I'm sorry, I should have clarified. That website is not my site. My site is still under construction, and just found this one as an example of what is happening on mine.

I have not changed anything relating to directory names, etc.

Oh ok, well adding that css to the Custom CSS box should do it. Did you try clearing your browser cache? Also, make sure that your on the customize screen for Slate and not a different theme.

Ok, I just cleared the cache for my site, as well as for my web browsers (Safari and Firefox), and still no change (I did double check to ensure I was adding to the code to the Slate theme...hmmm

Can you post a link to your site at all? It would really help if you could. Thanks.
