Open a fileset gallery or slider using fancybox links

Permalink Browser Info Environment
I private messaged the developer of this block with the following question:
--------------
How difficult would it be for Fancybox text links to open a fileset?
I have been searching for an add-on that will use a text link from the content block to open a gallery, or vimeo or google map. When I search for this in the forums, It seems that I am not alone.
My client wants to have tabbed content for different aspects of her business, and within that content, open galleries or videos of her work (Dance).
It seems your block would be the perfect solution, if I could open galleries from file sets?
--------------

there was some confusion as to what I was trying to do, but finally the developer understood and sent this reply:

--------------

I think that the easiest way to make what you describe is using one slider add-on.
Just insert one slider block in the page, enable autoplay (most slider will have that feature) and make it pop-up from a fancybox link.
In the fancyboxlinks documentation you will find a detailed explanation of how to open another block in a fancybox lightbox:

Also, here there are a few free slider add-ons that support filesets:

Finally, for this type of questions, I have to kindly ask you to use the support forums instead of a PM, that way the answer we give you can help others as well; thank you.

I have started trying to implement this solution, but am having other problems (see other posts in forum about editor bar disappearing)
I hope I can get things working - would be a good solution for me!
Any input appreciated...
