Site name issues

Hello,

When I first installed concrete5 it asked for a site name so I entered one. After I installed Slate it shows the site name in huge type above the navigation where the logo is suppose to go. Why is it that when I change my "site name" nothing changes? and how do I get rid of this issue all together and get the logo to appear?
