How do I get the main navigation to move down the page so I can put a image that's bigger vertically than the one you have allowed for above the nav'?

I'm away from my computer for a couple of days so I can't give you an exact answer. But basically you want to edit the theme's main.php file and adjust the header height to the same height as the picture you want to use. This should automatically push the menu down.
