eCommerce lets you configure various shipping methods as well.  By default, you only get the "flat rate" style shipping.  It is possible to create new shipping types and currently there are several other options available in the marketplace.  

When you have a new shipping type available to install it will be listed beneath your available shipping methods.

Clicking "edit" for a shipping type brings up its configuration dialog.  The flat shipping lets you pick a base rate and how much extra per item.

All shipping types let you choose where that type of shipping is available and if it is available at all through the "enable" option.
